Assembly Process Engineer - Entry Level
SUMMARY
The Process Engineer supports process improvements, scrap reduction, sustaining engineering, capital equipment projects and technical support for coaxial cable assemblies, connectors and harnesses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides technical support, troubleshooting and problem resolution to ensure cost, quality, delivery and safety targets are met
- Evaluates scrap and waste in assigned manufacturing areas and drives initiatives for waste reduction
- Ensures standard work procedures are established for Manufacturing and support processes to provide consistent production guidance and reduce risks related to safety, quality, and downtime
- Performs Engineering analysis, Design of Experiments (DOEs) and trials to improve and optimize manufacturing processes
- Leads or participates in capital equipment projects, including planning, procurement, design, installation, and qualification activities (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Coordinates with Maintenance, EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) and Operations to ensure safety measures related to area are compliant and effective

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Previous Engineering co-op experience in an applicable field
- Once trained, can perform daily responsibilities with minimal supervision; may require guidance and oversight on more complex projects
- Ability to participate in and advise cross functional project teams
- Basic knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma Tools
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
- Hearing protection in specific locations
- Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
