Plating Technician
The Plating Technician performs chemical analyses to determine the chemical concentrations of wastewater and plating solutions to ensure they meet environmental and operational specifications.

The Role -
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Plating Technician to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.
The key responsibilities of the Plating Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Take daily samples of wastewater and analyze metal concentration and pH
- Analyze plating solutions and determine necessary additions or adjustments
- Operate analytical equipment: AA, spectrophotometer, auto-titrator
- Interact with plating personnel to monitor processes and report when issues occur
- Work with outside suppliers to improve processes
- Clean glassware and work area
Salary - $45,000 - $65,000
Location -

- 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
- 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY
The Person -
The key skills and qualities of a Plating Technician at Amphenol Aerospace Operations include, but are not limited to:
- AS Degree, minimum
- Chemistry or science background, plating and/or waste treatment analysis background
- Wet chemical analytical lab experience desired
- Familiar with the operation of AA, spectrophotometer, pH meters
- Basic Lab skills: Pipetting, titrating, making standard solutions
- Computer operation, experience in Excel and TrueChem is a plus
- Hand work: Technician pipets samples, perform wet titrations, weigh chemicals, clean glassware
- Computer work: Input data into database, write procedures
- Standing for up to 2 hours at a time, 4-6 hours per day
- Lifting: Lift chemical containers, up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Good communication skills, ability to interface with both hourly employees and supervision
