REQUIREMENTS:
Veterinary Technicians must have a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid doses. They must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures. Technicians must also deliver compassionate nursing care.
PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL:
We offer flexible work schedules. Most schedules are four 10 hour shifts weekly, 1 Saturday per month, closed Sundays
Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds unassisted
Must possess sufficient strength and assertiveness to effectively restrain patients
Must be able to be on feet a minimum of eight hours per day
Must be able to handle dogs on leashes
Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions
Must have strong emotional intelligence, communication & interpersonal skills
Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets
Must display a professional manner at all times
Education:
High School graduate or Equivalent
CVT Preferred
