NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, technical, and operational support to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Biology Related Degree with minimum additional experience of 15 year(s) in analyzing and managing staff and resources for a natural resource land management agency

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams
Duties:

Analyze the operational requirements for the National Wildlife Refuge System and manage the working team through development of the working model.

  • Gather and analyze data to determine the requirements to successfully perform the operational requirements of the Refuge System   30%
  • Use the data analyses to develop a data driven operational model for the Refuge System   30%
  • Manage working to team to develop and test the working model   20%
  • Brief on progress to Refuge System leadership team and develop final report   20%

Other:
  • IT Security Training to access federal systems
  • Travel Requirements: One to two trips per year
  • Overnight travel: One to two trips per year
  • Air travel anticipated: One to two trips per year, air travel dependent on location
