Job Summary: The Loan Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of loan files through ongoing review and analysis. This role monitors lending practices to identify errors, trends, and training opportunities. Responsibilities include performing quality checks, maintaining detailed documentation, and supporting process improvement by mentoring and training lending staff on file standards, best practices, and regulatory expectations.

Essential Functions:

Job Specific:

  • Conduct regular reviews of loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report quality control findings, identifying trends, recurring errors, and areas for staff development.
  • Communicate findings and feedback to appropriate team members and supervisors to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with lending leadership and other departments to maintain and update quality control procedures and documentation standards.
  • Provide training and mentoring to lending staff on loan file preparation, documentation accuracy, and process improvements.
  • Assist in the development of resources and reference materials to support consistent and compliant lending practices.
  • Support audits and regulatory exams by preparing and organizing documentation as needed.
  • Stay current on lending regulations and internal policy changes that impact quality control standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support lending compliance and operational quality.

  • Comply with all bank policies, procedures, and regulations, and report any concerns to Human Resources or upper-level management immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or commensurate experience in loan operations or banking quality control.
  • Previous experience in lending, loan operations, or quality control preferred.
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation standards and regulatory compliance requirements preferred.
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license required.

Physical Demands:

  • Engage in routine physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to read reports and use a computer effectively.
  • Lift and carry items up to 30 pounds daily, including file boxes and office supplies.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled setting.
  • Occasional travel by car to visit other company locations may be required.
  • Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work to achieve established goals.
