Senior Construction Project Manager – High-End Residential Properties
Senior Construction Project Manager – High-End Residential Properties
Full-Time | Weekly travel in New England
Are you a Boston-based construction expert ready to lead meaningful, design-forward residential projects with craftsmanship, precision, and trust at the core?
A prominent private client is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to take the lead on a significant project in Coastal Maine, overseeing complex, high-end residential construction with a sharp eye for detail and a deep respect for process.
This is not a corporate GC role, it is a high-trust position supporting a private principal with thoughtful discretion and project leadership from day one.
This requires a weekly boots-on-the-ground presence, and the client is prepared to cover travel expenses and on-site housing for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- On-site leadership of residential construction projects
- Serve as the principal's advocate throughout all phases—design through completion.
- Manage architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and consultants with poise and clarity.
- Provide highly detailed project reporting, budgeting, and documentation.
- Must be comfortable with heavy administrative work, tracking every detail.
- Tools used include CAD, Bluebeam Revu, Asana, BuilderTrend, and email.
- Generate accurate, narrative-backed budgets and thoughtful cost tracking.
- Contribute value-engineering insight, emphasizing efficiency. "No wasted space" is the motto.
- Ensure jobsite safety and professionalism at all times.
- Travel occasionally to other New England-based properties to understand broader project philosophy (especially in the first year).
Ideal Candidate Qualities
- 15+ years of experience in high-end residential construction; commercial experience a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills. Comfortable advising the principal without overstepping.
- "No ego" mindset, committed to collaboration, discretion, and craftsmanship.
- Technically confident: can answer detailed design and construction questions easily.
- Experience managing local vendors and timelines in coastal Maine environments.
- A safety-forward leader with OSHA certification.
- Prior experience working for high-profile clients is a plus
- Preference for candidates who have lived and worked in New England
Working Style & Support
You won't be working in a vacuum. The Family Office team and broader project management leadership will have your back, offer resources and guidance while trusting you to lead on the ground. This role requires balance, strong convictions paired with tact, a high attention to detail with a bigger-picture mindset, and the ability to support rather than direct the principal.
Schedule:
Generally, Monday to Friday, business hours with flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as requested.
Compensation:
- Base compensation of $150,000 to $190,000, depending on experience.
- This role offers excellent benefits including an annual discretionary bonus, health/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, and more.
- Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate
