IT Applications Support Specialist

Job Summary:

This position reports to the IT Project Manager within Guardsman Metaverse and also interfaces with company managers and staff. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive analysis of IT systems and infrastructure to determine areas for improvements.
  • Prepare/assist with the preparation and sharing of proposals on recommended changes to systems and/or system processes to improve efficiency.
  • Write business plans for implementation of recommended solutions.
  • Implement or assist with implementation of updates to IT systems that will improve efficiency within the organization.
  • Conduct analysis of business operations and processes.
  • Training of staff on new business processes and technologies.
  • Conduct research and development of technological innovations within the industry.
  • Support and maintain existing IT systems and solutions to sustain high availability and acceptable performance levels for end users.
  • Liaise with Group IT to drive resolutions to issues affecting Guardsman Metaverse users, systems or clients.
  • Effectively utilize and manage all available communication mediums, to include but not limited to email, phone calls, WhatsApp and direct channels to communicate with management and end users in a timely manner.
  • As required, manage relationships with partners, vendors and clients of Guardsman Metaverse.
  • Prepare and provide scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, annually or ADHOC reports to management and/or business as required.
  • Write SQL queries to interrogate system and/or client data to provide meaningful reports to business.
  • Organize and attend meetings as required.
  • Any other IT related tasks that the business/management may deem necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • First Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a similar IT-Related discipline
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Full understanding of Network and Cloud-based IT infrastructures
  • Must be a team player
  • Must demonstrate willingness to learn
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL Databases
  • At least 1 - 2 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Must possess good technical and project management skills
  • Advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft product Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to work outside of normal business hours
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience working with Windows and/or Linux based servers
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of VoIP technology
