Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking an Associate Product Line Manager to join our High Speed IO Cables team located in Nashua, NH.
The Associate Product Line Manager will work with cross-functional teams to drive the development and marketing of Amphenol’s High Speed IO Cable Products. This role will be responsible for promoting our products to their assigned market, winning key new design opportunities, and developing and executing the product strategies required to rapidly grow the business, both top and bottom line; and managing NPI to production activities. This person will work under the mentorship of an experienced Product Manager and must have the desire and skills development potential to become a Product Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- P&L responsibility for all HSIO Cable Product Family products across all IO Cable Form Factors (OSFP, QSFP-DD, QSFP, etc..) in the assigned territory
- Drive and collaborate with our other HSIO Cable Product Managers all products through:
- NPI activities
- Tooling strategies
- Supplier strategies
- Product qualifications
- Production ramping plan
- Life cycle management/rationalization, PCNs
- Cost, pricing, and margins
- Capacity planning
- Schedule management
- Drive NPI + mass production strategies which will include site locations, CAPEX, assembly/component yield management, automation strategies and deployments, equipment locations, and capacity planning.
- Cost modeling (direct material and variable costs) to develop cost targets, regular cost downs, and pricing strategies
- Drive new business opportunity funnel, aligning both the business unit and sales on actions + strategies to win
- Define customer / market requirements for product family, timing, and forecasts
- Work with cross-functional teams (marketing, engineering, business development and operations) to proactively identify product and solution gaps and define market requirements to close the total available market space
- Develop marketing materials and promote to industry and potential customers
- Train internal sales teams such that they understand positioning, benefits, target customers, and target applications
- Work closely with Amphenol Spectra Strip on bulk wire development + go to market activities
- Fully target site KPIs for sales revenue achievement, product margin improvement on cost reduction driving, negative margin improvement, and design win and shorten response time to quote
- Some travel required for customer visits (sales + negotiations), sales training, factory visits, and trade shows
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Degree in an Engineering Discipline, MBA preferred
- Display skills beyond engineering technical skills, including financial, leadership, and business management skills
- Strong written and verbal communications and networking skills
- Comfortable working with multiple levels of the organization and with all functional groups
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Some travel (up to 25%) is required
