Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Amphenol Spectra-Strip is a leader in hyper scale data center bulk wire solutions. We develop and manufacture gigabit copper cable solutions for high performance and cloud compute applications. We are currently seeking a Process Engineering Manager to join our team in Hamden, CT.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineering Manager to oversee the daily production processes, improvement and support of existing manufacturing processes and products. This role demands a technically proficient leader with over 10 years of experience in engineering and a proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, resolve complex issues, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong personality, clear communication, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues, and customer complaints.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical problems impacting manufacturing, supply chain, or product performance.
- Responsible for documentation including process specifications, work instructions, and engineering change notices.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to enhance yield, reduce cost, and improve reliability.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive measurable improvements.
- Mentor and lead a team of approximately 6-10 engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through implementation.
- Track and report progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory documentation as needed.
- Travel up to 5–10% to support vendor visits, troubleshooting, and inter-site collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with a focus on sustaining, manufacturing, or operations.
- Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Proven track record of solving complex technical problems and driving cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and Six Sigma/Lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, CAD tools, and data analysis platforms.
