Production Planner/Buyer

Position: Production Planner/Buyer
Location: Valley Green, PA
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a Production Planner-Buyer for our Cable Backplane Systems business unit. The position will be based in our Etters, PA location.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and scheduling workflow for assigned production team and operation according to routing sequences and lead time.
- Interfaces with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality and Customer Service to coordinate the shipping schedule.
- Coordinate with production employees and MFG Engineer for shop floor activities, select alternative methods / process to meet overall schedules, and improve efficiency in Manufacturing.
- Schedules, expedites & coordinates the delivery & movement of critical material, including material transfers & material deviation releases.
- Release component and secondary orders as needed.
- Releases production orders commensurate with inventory goals, cost objectives, and production capacity.
- Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated & communicated.
- Familiarity with the workings of MRP and capacity planning a plus.
- Improve transportation program by optimizing freight cost, expedite cost, and delivery to meet customer requirements.
- Supports order entry and issuance of Purchase Orders for the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in materials management or related field with two (2) to five (5) years related experience or seven (7) to ten (10) years direct related experience.
- Microsoft AX experience is a plus.
- Must be fully proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills
