NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in a profession with primary duties involving administration, budget planning/execution, and organizational support/analysis. The ideal skillset would include experience in developing and implementing program, budget, and administrative processes with a federal agency. OR BA/BS Degree in No particular degree required

  • Demonstrated skill and experience with working within and across teams in support of program functions within budget and administrative areas. Hands on experience with formulation and execution of NPS budgets. Experience with evaluating and revising programs to meet organizational goals.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint
Duties:

The enrollee in this position will provide technical and professional support in organizational planning, budget execution, and administrative processes. Enrollee will also assist in mentoring and training of staff in financial and administrative processes and develop reference and training materials.

  • Assist with analysis and planning of organizational functions and activities. These include potential structural reorganizations, forward financial and project planning in support of visitor services, and analysis of functions being considered for conversion to contracted operations within high visitor use areas.   40%
  • Provide mentoring, training, and hands on assistance to parkwide budget and administrative staff in support of the performance of their duties.   40%
  • Develop and centrally organize reference guides and training materials for park staff.   10%
  • Attendance of meetings and informational sessions   10%
