Housekeeper

A lovely client is adding an experienced Housekeeper to their tenured team in Bridgehampton, NY.

They are seeking a skilled, reliable, and gracious Housekeeper for a full-time, year-round position that involves hands-on daily cleaning.

The principals will hire immediately or as soon as you are available. They understand that you might be committed to a role until the end of the season.

Responsibilities

• General and specialty cleaning of the residence, with attention to caring for fine materials and surfaces
• Work collaboratively with other Housekeepers reporting to a House Manager.
• Adhere to a schedule for daily, deep, and seasonal cleaning
• Promptly report maintenance issues to the House Manager and Property Caretaker
• Assist with laundry and ironing of clothing and linens
• Assist the Chef with table setting and meal prep/clean-up as requested
• Run occasional household errands

 

Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a Housekeeper in a fine home for a private employer or experience as a yacht Stewardess
• Excellent, verifiable references
• Outstanding hands-on cleaning skills with a strong eye for detail
• Ability to "read the room" and anticipate the needs of the principals
• Strong English communication skills
• Service mindset and ability
• Enjoys a team-oriented environment

 

Schedule:

• Off-season, Monday to Friday, approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The principals are happy to consider candidates who prefer and earlier start
• In-season, generally, Monday to Friday.
  • Hours may vary according to the family's schedule
  • Candidates should anticipate some regular weekend work during the summer season to assist with entertaining.

 

Compensation:

• Excellent base compensation of $50-$60/hour depending on experience and qualifications
